End of Week Post
June 18th, 2004 10:10 pmWell, for all of yesterday and much of today, I had what's called a Holter monitor -- used to monitor the heart for 24 hours -- hooked to me. Blah. There were electrodes everywhere, and MAN, it really freaked me out. Not so easy to sleep in, either. But yeay, it's off now and even my EKG was cancelled, so no more electrodes... I hope! Anyway, who knows if the results will tell anything about why my heart is as crazy as it is... But I'm just so tired of feeling like this.
This stems from my own recent visits to the hospital, from the ominous clock to the ever-present wires and such. Jack, I apologize. Ironically, it really is all about the timing...
=====
Title: Time
Prompt: "tick tock"
Tick tock.
The clock on the wall taunts me.
Tick tock.
It knows that time is the only thing keeping me here.
Tick tock.
I have to rest.
Tick tock.
I have to heal.
Tick tock.
I have to listen to that clock.
Tick tock.
I hate being hurt.
Tick tock.
I hate being in the Infirmary.
Tick tock.
I hate that clock.
Tick tock.
I want to get these electrodes and wires off me.
Tick tock.
I want to get out of this bed and into some real clothes.
Tick tock.
I want to go home.
Tick tock.
But time won't let me.
Tick tock.
Not yet, at least.
Tick tock.
Damn clock.

Date: June 20th, 2004 06:31 pm (UTC)That's what I'm doing. Tomorrow, when I just get some blood drawn I will be thinking about Alexis in his England football jersey. At least I think I will. ;)
They don't work for me either. :( So I guess you'll just have to smash the clock or something. ;)
Smashing the clock actually sounds like a plan. But I'm afraid they will know it was me. And I think the ear plugs don't work, because you just expect the clock to tick. So you know it will happen and you will hear it. I hate it.

Date: June 22nd, 2004 01:50 am (UTC)Yeah, it went well. No fainting, because it wasn't that warm outside yesterday. And the nurse made it at first try. So I don't even look like a junkie at the moment.
Thinking about Alexis in his footy shirt helped a lot. Though, when
*huggles Alexis in football shirt*
