End of Week Post
June 18th, 2004 10:10 pmWell, for all of yesterday and much of today, I had what's called a Holter monitor -- used to monitor the heart for 24 hours -- hooked to me. Blah. There were electrodes everywhere, and MAN, it really freaked me out. Not so easy to sleep in, either. But yeay, it's off now and even my EKG was cancelled, so no more electrodes... I hope! Anyway, who knows if the results will tell anything about why my heart is as crazy as it is... But I'm just so tired of feeling like this.
This stems from my own recent visits to the hospital, from the ominous clock to the ever-present wires and such. Jack, I apologize. Ironically, it really is all about the timing...

Title: Time
Prompt: "tick tock"
Tick tock.
The clock on the wall taunts me.
Tick tock.
It knows that time is the only thing keeping me here.
Tick tock.
I have to rest.
Tick tock.
I have to heal.
Tick tock.
I have to listen to that clock.
Tick tock.
I hate being hurt.
Tick tock.
I hate being in the Infirmary.
Tick tock.
I hate that clock.
Tick tock.
I want to get these electrodes and wires off me.
Tick tock.
I want to get out of this bed and into some real clothes.
Tick tock.
I want to go home.
Tick tock.
But time won't let me.
Tick tock.
Not yet, at least.
Tick tock.
Damn clock.

Date: June 19th, 2004 04:28 am (UTC)And thanks for Strong Bad. Though you can put other links up there. It's just not that funny for me, when I already know them. But hey, naked Dumbledore is always amusing. ;)
I'm sorry about that Holter monitor thing. That seems to be the thing I told you about, that my brother has to do every year. I hope everything is okay with you.
*hugs*
About your shows. Monk didn't start in Germany last month, it started in Austria last month. In Germany it will start on June the 29th, which means, I could start watching the show from the beginning, which means, I could watch the show without trying to find episodes on the net first, since I can't watch shows, that I didn't watch from the beginning.
Tick tock. Well, I didn't have my heart monitored but, when I have my kidney scan, the tick tock of the clock is the thing I hate the most, too. I hate not to be allowed to move for half an hour and having to listen to the clock. It's the only thing I can do while in that machine. I hate it.
*hugs for you and Jack*
I don't know why, but again I can't enter your pics. Must be the time of day they just don't want to work. Need to check them out later. Or I should just check randy for most of them.

Date: June 19th, 2004 03:09 pm (UTC)I have seen the Wes one before, stupid me for not remembering. Looks good too, but I would probably vote for Harry. Well, I don't know the other person's wallpapers, so maybe I wouldn't.
I like the banner too, even though it is pinkish. I hate pink. Well, I just don't like it that much.
And just so that you don't have anything to complain about, you are the first person that I tell that I just watched "In the line of duty". I loved Jack with Cassie. I loved those two the first time around. To bad she didn't bring her dog. I just love RDA with dogs. Almost as much as I love him with hockey sticks. ;)
I like, that they brought her back. She was a nice girl. And apparently there are goa'ulds that fight Ra. Nice idea.
And I'll be my usual lazy self and will just copy this comment to Alli's lj. But I'll add some dirty thoughts about Michael Shanks licking his lips there. ;)

Date: June 19th, 2004 05:50 pm (UTC)Tehe. I had actually forgotten I did that! I have to get used to it, too, but I love that color scheme. It's very similar to the sheets and comforter on my bed, so how can I resist it in my LJ? I want to have a graphic at the top, if I figure out how to do it...
I hope everything is okay with you.
I can't say I'm fine, but I'm okay. I'm very tired all the time and having some issues with my heart. But it could all be anxiety or something, so don't worry... It just puts a damper on my fic and LJ enjoyment. *g*
the tick tock of the clock is the thing I hate the most, too.
It's so unnerving!! Even when I talk to my mom or something, I can still hear it. Grrrrrrr. It needs volume control.
*hugs for you and Jack*
::hugs for you, too!::

Date: June 19th, 2004 06:14 pm (UTC)When did you do it? Should I be embarrassed, that I didn't notice earlier? Well, sometimes when I'm in a really bad spamming mood, I don't see the background of where I spam.
But it could all be anxiety or something, so don't worry.
Well, I do worry. I have heart disease in my family. My brother has something up with his heart too. And I love you, so I worry a bit. I keep my fingers crossed, that it's just an anxiety thing, though.
It's so unnerving!! Even when I talk to my mom or something, I can still hear it. Grrrrrrr. It needs volume control.
Well, I don't have my mom or anyone with me. So it's just the typing of the nurse once in a while, when she adjusts the computer thingie. The other 28 minutes are silence. Well, not, silence, since I can hear that tick tock all the time. It drives me insane. Especially the last half of it, when I desperately need to go to the toilette, but aren't supposed to move. I hate that clock.

Date: June 19th, 2004 07:12 pm (UTC)Thank you!! I love it, too. So much so that I have it on my desktop now. I'm sorry, Alexis, but Harry just keeps sneaking onto my desktop! But I'm sure you'll find your way back soon.
I like the banner too, even though it is pinkish.
I'm not exactly a fan of pink, but I'm an artist, so it has its uses. And I just love the texture I used, so I just deal with the color. But hey, if you really look at it, there's more blue and purple than pick. ;)
I loved Jack with Cassie.
They're so cute. :)
And apparently there are goa'ulds that fight Ra. Nice idea.
Just wait a few more episodes. *g* Very important point in the series.

Date: June 19th, 2004 07:24 pm (UTC)Oh, no, no embarrassment. I did it late last night... er... very early this morning. *g* I just forgot about it.
And I love you, so I worry a bit.
Awwwwe. ::yet more hugs:: They haven't contacted me about the results, which they said they'd do if it were anything serious. I do know, however, that my heartbeat is irregular, which causes flutters and racing more often than I like it.
The other 28 minutes are silence.
Maybe you need to bring some fics with you on your next visit. *gg* And some earplugs for the clock.

Date: June 20th, 2004 03:11 am (UTC)*hugs you some more*
I do know, however, that my heartbeat is irregular
So is mine, and the one of my brother and the one of every single person I know that has ever had a Holter monitor or a EKG that lasted a bit longer. I think it is normal to have some irregularities. As long as they are not to bad. The fluttering and racing doesn't sound that good. Though I have that too sometimes, but usually after I was forced to drink coffee or drive a car. I'm afraid of cars. Yes, I must have been one of the very few persons, who didn't laugh at the cars are demons joke from "Spin the Bottle". Cause I know the truth and they really are.
Maybe you need to bring some fics with you on your next visit. *gg* And some earplugs for the clock.
Well, I'm not supposed to move. If I move to much, they would have to repeat the procedure. So I couldn't read anything funny or sad or thrilling, which doesn't leave that many options and someone would have to turn the pages for me or even better read it out for me.
The usual rubber ear plugs wouldn't help. I tried them and when it is really silent I can even hear our clock here at home with them in my ears. So I would hear the super extra loud clock at the doctor's too. And I can't use a disk player or something like that, because it would distract the machine. I hate those kidney scan things.

Date: June 20th, 2004 03:33 am (UTC)And I'll wait the next episodes for important points. I will watch "Prisoners" tonight or tomorrow.

Date: June 20th, 2004 06:22 pm (UTC)It's certainly not a fun feeling. It's fairly common, especially if you intake a lot of caffeine, but that's not the case for me. I don't drink coffee at all and sodas only some of the time.
Well, I'm not supposed to move.
Okay. Then you should read a fic right before you have it done so you can think about it the whole time. :D
The usual rubber ear plugs wouldn't help.
They don't work for me either. :( So I guess you'll just have to smash the clock or something. ;)

Date: June 20th, 2004 06:31 pm (UTC)That's what I'm doing. Tomorrow, when I just get some blood drawn I will be thinking about Alexis in his England football jersey. At least I think I will. ;)
They don't work for me either. :( So I guess you'll just have to smash the clock or something. ;)
Smashing the clock actually sounds like a plan. But I'm afraid they will know it was me. And I think the ear plugs don't work, because you just expect the clock to tick. So you know it will happen and you will hear it. I hate it.

Date: June 22nd, 2004 01:50 am (UTC)Yeah, it went well. No fainting, because it wasn't that warm outside yesterday. And the nurse made it at first try. So I don't even look like a junkie at the moment.
Thinking about Alexis in his footy shirt helped a lot. Though, when
*huggles Alexis in football shirt*
