Just got back from Serenity...

I was chewing my fingernails the last part. I never chew my fingernails.

My brain is numb.

EDIT: I just watched my Firefly vid again and had an emotional breakdown in the middle of it. :'(

I laughed (until my sides hurt), I cried bawled, and it was... wow. I'm definitely gonna see it again.

Umm, pardon the cavewoman who just stepped out of the dark cave, but would you enlighten me on Serenity? I keep seeing it in my flist but thought it was some TV series that is yet to reach the sand dunes of Dubai.

Serenity is the big screen continuation of the short-lived tv series Firefly. Firefly is a 14-episode season; Serenity takes place approximately 6 months after the last episode of Firefly.

It is dubbed as a sci-fi/western, but is much more than that. The crew of Serenity (the name of their Firefly class ship) are thieves, trying to make it on the outer-edges of the universe. The core planets are united under the Alliance--a sort of Super Government, and the outer planets tend to fend for themselves, which makes it difficult to make an honest living.

The story is mostly about family and faith, but it's also hilarious and quite adventurous.

I highly recommend watching it especially if you're a fan of sci-fi or Joss Whedon.

Wow, that's a great summary! I'm downloading Firefly now so that when Serenity hits the theatres or the DVD stores here I'm prepared. And yes I am a fan of Joss.

I think Firefly is Joss's best work. And that's coming from someone who has a huge emotional connection to Buffy.

I'm sure that you're quite aware of what killed me in the movie. The first time I saw it, I was so shocked that I had a delayed cry. This time I cried through practically the entire thing.

After that certain point in the movie *wibble* I really wanted to just run away. I was flailing and squeaking and covering my eyes. I forget how evil Joss can be sometimes...

The worst part, though? We had a brand new convert come with us to the movie. When I say new, I mean she just started watching the show two days before. She got the whole Firefly experience in three days. She balled the whole last part of the movie, I was more shell shocked. When it was all over, I looked at Alex, her mom, and Cassa and they were all in tears. We were a pitiful site.

After my first viewing people asked me, "Are you okay?!" And I wibbled, "Yes. This is nothing. You should see me watch 'Not Fade Away.'"

So, yes, many tears, but not as bad as other tears. And after my fourth viewing, my tears and shock have lessened.

On another note...my dear Skroberts...I'm looking for a program to organize my video/music collections into a database. I figured if anyone had or knew something about this it'd probably be you. You and I seem to have the same anal retentive (yet adorable and cute) urge to sort and collect!

And yes, I'm trying to find a database that I can use to take an inventory of all the entertainment I have. I have so many VHS tapes, DVD's, and VCD's, etc. Gosh, i just need some way to keep track of it...lol

I've only attempted to list everything that are on my VHS tapes. I did that in a Word file. If you have MS, have you tried Excel? I'm not really familiar with it, but it might be helpful.
