As I was preparing for my first class, one of the new roommates and, I assume, a friend of hers stopped by our roommate to talk a bit. The Friend saw my posters and said something to the effect of, "Hey, Stargate SG-1! Awesome." Also, upon spying my Joe Flanigan poster, she said, "He's hot." I have no idea who she is or if I'll ever see her again, but she gets many points from me. :D
In my first class, I pulled out my pen and remembered the whole Atlantis thing. I squealed silently but could not keep myself from flailing a bit. I'm such a weirdo.
There was a rather large storm between my first and second class. The parking lot turned into a lake. There was much lightning and thunder. At one point, there was a considerably bright flash immediately followed by the loudest clap of thunder I've heard in a while. It made car alarms go off. Freaky.
Right after dinner, Alex, Robyn and I went to check out a tree on The Green that had apparently been stuck by lightning earlier. It looks like some large clawed creature raked its nails down it, from the top-most branch to the ground. It's awesome, but sad. Poor tree. And what's more sad, something has happened to the pond only a few feet away from the tree. All of the larger fish seemed to have died suddenly, and the wee fish and tadpoles are frantic. We don't know what happened, but we think the culprit is lightning. It's really upsetting. :(
Today's Lesson: Lightning = bad.
