From Diana on the NoPeskyFish Yahoo List: Okay, you know those SG-1 drabble challenges I do every week? Well, I am not the only one who writes... Diana has a running "Nurse Judy" series going, Judy being one of the people on the list, too. Diana has a bit of fun sometimes and lets the other ladies on the list play with Jack. I've shown up in at least two other fics where I brought muffins both times. *g* Anyway, this is the latest from Diana...

Title: The Cake
Author: Diana
Category: Just a bit of fun!
Season: 6/early 7
Spoilers: None
Notes: Happy Birthday, Sarah. I hope you enjoy this. Apologies for the sneaky mention of Nurse Judy!

'Jack?'

'Yes, Daniel.'

'What are all these things for?'

'I'm baking a cake.'

'Don't you have rather a large number of ingredients?'

'It's going to be a big cake. You know how I love cake.'

'Yeeeesss, but this is going to be a huge cake!'

'Oh, alright, I'll tell you, it's a birthday present for one of the nurses on base.'

'Oh, you mean, Judy.'

', No ... actually it's for Sarah, but everyone else can have a piece too. That's why I'm making a big cake – there are a heck of a lot of nurses, and they all love cake! Anyway, Jude told me it was Sarah's birthday, and I thought we should have a celebration.'

'Jack?'

'Yes, Daniel.'

'Why do you have so many candles? Just how old is Sarah?'

'Oh, she's still young. I just thought a big cake needed lots and lots of candles, and Teal'c won't realise some of his have gone missing.'

'Jack!'

'Carter's promised to help with the icing, and Janet is going to do a little speech. It should be great fun.'

'Jack?'

'Yes, Daniel.'

'Will you be singing 'Happy Birthday'?'

'Oh, I hadn't thought about that. Hey, that would be a great idea. I could bring along my guitar as well.'

'Er, Jack, I don't necessarily think singing is that good an idea.'

'Why not?'

'Well, let's just say your voice ...'

'My voice ... what? Hey, come back here, Daniel.'

--------------------------

In other words, an absolutely unproductive day in the Real Life sense, but a whole lot of fun for the Sarah soul...

I might not even have something for Christmas for you, as I sent your birthday mug in the summer and the Christmas RDA "autograph" for your birthday. So it would just have been German candy without anything good. But I don't want you to have to cringe. At least not, if that means, what I think it does.

Oh, I got the meaning of "cringe" correct. I don't want you to feel bad because of me sending stuff to you. I wouldn't send you anything if it were to expensive. I need money for my vacation, so don't worry. I won't get into any depth because of it. ;)
