One of my homework assignments is to watch DVDs to look for camera shots and such for Video Production class. And the only DVDs I have with me are Stargate SG-1 and Angel season sets. Oh, darn... *g*

=====

Title: September
Prompt: "in memory"

We were off-world when it happened.

I was almost shattered by the news.

I just couldn't believe it.

I sat in my living room and stared at my TV set, mesmerized by the continued coverage.

I risk my life day after day trying to keep this planet in one piece and ask little in return.

But a group of people see fit to do this to the world, to me.

Crazy, messed up world we live in.

It's hard to think of going on.

"In memory" flashes across the screen over and over.

It's not like I can ever forget a day like that.

The day The Simpsons was cancelled.

Sheppard's sweaty hair Guh! I so want screencaps now!
Is that our first Pegasus DHD?! Yep, to my recollection 'tis the first. Unless I missed one in premiere.
Has Steve always been in the credits? Yep, he's always been there. Well, since his capture.
Sheppard's "apartment" A pretty nifty bachelor's pad....*g*

The day The Simpsons was cancelled. ROTFL! That must have felt like the end of the world for Jack.

That third cartoon thingie looks a little bit like the smilie I get, when you try to send me a nerd smilie.

My roomie Alex is apparently addicted to cheese. ::shrugs::

Tell her to try it with a banana. Cheese and bananas go well together. They are both yellowy.

I ran out of gummy bears, the really yummy German ones roadrunner1896 sent me. :(

Awwwwww. Maybe I should put another bag of them in your birthday present and take the actual present out again. *gg*

And no turtles for you this week? I'm shocked. Thank God for fanfic. ;)

That drabble has a nice turn. Are the Simpsons really cancelled in the US? I know that we are getting new (new for Germany) episodes soon.

They were all episodes I've seen. But I made up for it this morning!!!

I already read about it. It made me happy.

I don't think so. I just thought it was funny. :)

Yes it was funny. It gave me a little heart attack though. I don't love the Simpsons as much as Jack, but I do like them a lot.

I haven't seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles all week! But OMG, I found fan fic.

Sarah, honey, let me point you in the best directions. I've been reading TMNT fanfic for a VERY long time...

GreenWillow's TMNT Lair has some really great fanfiction. She's got a couple of stories that are rated R for sexual content and violence, but some really nice epics that are PG-13ish. GW is awesome, though. A really great lady.

The Underground is Dawnatello's site. She's got some spectacular stuff. I highly recommend "Legends and Legacy." That's a PG-13 fic. Most of her others are R for sexual content.

Phistar's Phabulous Phan Phiction is some of the BEST fanfic out there. Most of it is rated R and rightly so. There is sexual content, cursing, and lots of fun violence. Phish writes some of the most intriguing stuff, though. I love it.

Luna's Fanfic Land is the host of some fun stuff. "Zerohour," while unfinished, is still pretty cool. This is also where my fics are hosted. ::sheepish grin:: I'm Karai in the TMNT world. I think both of my fics there are PG-13. If you're going to read anything, I suggest "Stolen Seasons." That one won an award for "Most Tear-Jerking Fanfic." Actually, my other one, "Turtle Soup & Frog's Legs" also won an award for "Most Disturbing Fanfic." Heh. Both are old fics, but still entertaining.

I can't currently find my very, very favorite fanfic ever, but I'll check and see if I saved it on my harddrive. It's called "Dark Journeys" and was written by Kim Leo. Seriously, I love that fic and I read it frequently. That and the sequel "Sojourns" and another fic called "Storm." So freaking awesome.

So, is that enough for you?

Leo-centric? That would be basically anything by GreenWillow. Also on her site she has the Leonardo Shrine. You should check it out. ;)

Uh, "Lia's Story" and it's sequel are fairly Leo-centric.

And my story, "Stolen Seasons," while it's not Leo-centric, I tend to write a lot about the Raph/Leo relationship. I'm pretty fascinated by how they're so similar and yet so different. Plus I just love writing them fighting. :)

And as much as I love Phish's stuff, I'm not sure you will. Some of it gets very, very, VERY intense.

Oh, and I think almost everything I recommended is based of the comic-book, Mirage series so there may be minor differences you're not familiar with. Any questions--you know who to come to. ;)

I think various scource books and stuff have pegged Leo as the oldest. Gerenally I think he just seems the oldest. There's also speculation that Raph is next oldest and Mikey's the youngest. All of which seems to make sense.

[livejournal.com profile] grass_stained and I are both sick. Though she seems to now be doing better than I am. She thinks she can make it through work today and I'm planning to leave around lunch time. I didn't bring my lunch today so that way I have to leave when I'm hungry. Yes, I'm tricksy that way. ::headdesk::

WHY AM I HERE?!

I thought of this (http://www.gatewatch.org/news/ratings.shtml) when you mentioned the lack of previews after Stargate. The site is made to be a joke, but they're onto something here.

It makes sense though. And it annoys me to no end as well to have no previews. *sniffles* And I totally didn't realize the summer finale was so close! Now I won't be about to see "Prometheaus Unbound (sp?)" until next year. *sniffles* Have you seen the pictures for that?!

Gateworld is pretty good about putting info and pictures up that aren't too spoilery.

I just like this picture. (http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s8/graphics/8x9_09.shtml)

I mean, you know who the guest star is. And they aren't going to put her on this ship, completely alone except for Daniel, and this *not* happen. Anyway, between now and when it aires you're bound to accidently run across it in someone's LJ or whatnot. So. :D

That's one show I would have watched... but couldn't. I've heard so many interviews with her saying how much he looked like Ben. I'm going to watch the mini series though, now that I have Sci-Fi.
