Come July 21, I'm going on hiatus from LJ for as long as it takes. Why? Because being spoiled really pisses me off. And I don't like to be pissed off. Thus, it's best for everyone if I don't get spoiled.

Why don't I want to be spoiled for Harry Potter particularly? Because it's the only series of books I've been genuinely excited about. Ever. At first, I refused to read them because everyone and their brother were spazzing out about them. I don't like it when something is advertised and exposed so much it seems to be the only thing out there because it's like someone is telling me what to like, and I don't like being told what to do. (This is also why I've never seen Titanic and am only recently able to actually look at Leonardo DiCaprio without cringing.) But after seeing the first movie, I was awestruck and chose to read them. *pets them*

So yes, I'm one of those people who is going to disappear because of a book. Don't like it? Deal with it or de-friend me.

I have my copy of The Half-Blood Prince but have not had the change to start it, nor do I think I will be able to start it in the next week because I have to work. So, as most of you have kindly put it: Spoil me, and I'll kick you in the shins.
