More SG-1 Drabble Fun

Wow. A drabble I wrote back in January, but forgot to post! Doing so now so my list I'm compiling will be complete.

Set early- to mid-series. Jack's PoV. 112 words...

The sun had been shining that day.

I remember it gleaming off the rakish hull of the Al-kesh as it rained destruction down on us.

No warning.

Only Goa'uld cronies nipping at our sixes.

I feared for the nearby village.

Those people posed no military threat.

I wasn't about to let them all be taken as slaves.

Only later did I realize the truth.

We'd gotten through the Gate with only minor injuries.

Later, even the villagers were reported as unscathed.

And I knew what had happened...

The Jaffa didn't want them.

They'd come for us.

We have to watch ourselves more closely now.

This job just keeps getting better and better.
