Stargate SG-1: “Lost City, Part 2” was, I swear, the best episode of all-time. I believe this was intended to be the theatrical film that didn’t get made because the series got renewed for new seasons. Oh, I wish they had made the movie! I would have DIED if I saw this on the big screen!! But, of course, I wouldn’t have made it out of the theatre without crying.
I gave myself a day, but I still haven’t recovered. Want to know how upset I am? I made my mother take me shopping (to get my mind off Jack). And I HATE shopping!! I was distracted for several hours, and hey, I have some nice new clothes -- which is great since all my others no longer fit since losing so much weight with starting college -- but it only worked for a while. Several times today when I lost concentration on something, I found myself thinking of Jack. I tried not to, but I started crying again at least three, four times. This is so sad; he’s a fictional character, for cryin’ out loud, but I can’t help it.
My favorite moments:
-- Jack and his crossword puzzle again. And Daniel pestering him about what he’s written, that he may know where the Lost City is. Jack, to Daniel: “Following, still, you, not!”
-- Clue: celestial body = Uma Thurman... LOL!! Yep, I don’t think Mary Steenburgen would have fit.
-- While Jack gathers things for the mission without a clue what he’s doing, and Daniel is just staring at Weir and grinning like an idiot. :)
-- Hehehe. Weir has a sense of humor, even if it’s for bad jokes.
-- Teal’c replies to if he can hear the ship from under the dome with “Loudly and clearly.” OMG, he actually used correct grammar! I’m so proud!!
-- The music playing while at Proclarush (or however it’s spelled)... I KNOW I’ve heard it before! But I have to wait until I can get back to my DVD’s to check.
-- Oh, my, Jack in Ancient Mode. ::giggles with joy:: So cool.
-- Oh, boy, I was a little worried when Bra’tac was stabbed. But when Jack got that look in his eye, I knew he could fix him -- and he did! ::whew!!:: And Teal’c, all emotional as he says, “O’Neill possesses the healing power of the Ancients.” Chris Judge was great.
-- How much do I love the President?! He got all up in Anubis’ (hologram) face and basically told him to BITE ME! And then when Anubis disappears, the Pres turns to the other people in the room and asks “Too much?”... LOL! He must be Jack’s long-lost uncle or something!!
-- Oh, my, the Jack and Teal’c scene! He starts saying “I wish for you to know...” and then Jack just grabs his face making him looking into his eyes, conveying that he understands. Just BEAUTIFUL. CJ and RDA were wonderful.
-- OMG, I so wanted to yell at Kinsey to make him shut up, but the Pres beat me to it. He actually told him to SHUT UP!!! And he even threatened him to resign. Kinsey, just do it and save us from our misery. ::raspberry to Kinsey::
-- Hammond at the helm of the Prometheus... woo-hoo! And dude, he had gliders. The graphics for the battle were GORGEOUS!! Cinematography freak, meet heaven. ::squee::
-- Is it me, or were the lattice walls in the Antarctic dome reused from “Metamorphosis”?
-- ::chills:: Jack walked right through Anubis’ hologram like he was nothing. If he didn’t know, he should now... Anubis has messed with the wrong planet.
-- Oh, no! The dreaded Cod-Piece Army is back!! The super soldiers are still pretty cool, but come on, how can you not notice. ::grins::
-- DAYMN!!! Yellow, glowy, squid things totally kicked some bad guy butt BIG TIME!!! That was so cool, I had my jaw dropped for the last five minutes or so of the ep. SO COOL!
-- Well, Anubis’ fleet is gone... but is he?
-- OMG, when Jack went limp. Gaping over the cool squid-y things changed into gaping over Jack slipping away. :’( He probably only had minutes left, so they had no choice but to put him in the stasis chamber. Teal’c carried him! They said goodbye. And now Jack is just... just. Not living, not dying, just a frozen shadow of the wonderful man he is. And the blank look on his face as the ep went to black... Oh, sweet Lord in heaven... I just got up and told my mom that I had to leave as I hurried out of the room. I swear, I bawled for at least 30 minutes straight then just became numb for the rest of the night, with tears still coming without my control. I’m still so upset.
And now we have to wait ‘til JULY to see what happens next! Oh, dear, I hope they don’t trivialize this. That would be telling us that all the emotions we felt were nothing, just something to get us back next season. Jack really did make the ultimate sacrifice... he gave more than his life, but his soul. Right now, he just doesn’t exist. That’s worse than his death.
They just saved the planet yet again, but they couldn’t save him. It’s just so not fair. And to make it worse, the teaser for the new season... “The heart of the Lost City is found. The soul of SG-1 is lost...” They’re going to make me drown in my own tears!
I have to stop now before I start crying again... Too late. :’(

Title: Despair
Spoilers: “Lost City, Part 2”
Author’s Note: Teal’c’s point of view.
The battle for Earth is done. The Tau’ri have once again triumphed.
While we should feel victory, there is only despair.
O’Neill is unmoving.
We are losing him. There is no other choice. He must sleep now.
His unnatural stillness disconcerts me as I carry him to his slumber.
Goodbye is too inadequate a word for saying farewell to a brother.
He truly has made the ultimate sacrifice. Gave more than his life, but his soul.
O’Neill is no longer O’Neill. Not dead, not alive, just a frozen shadow of the remarkable man he should be. A fate worse than death.
His expressionless, petrified face will stay with me always.

Date: March 22nd, 2004 11:40 am (UTC)Maybe you could join a list or something where someone can copy their VHS tapes (or whatever your system is). They’re SO not as expensive as DVDs. And I think VHS sets are out there, too, you just have to find them.
Write your TV stations and BEG them to air the show! :D

Date: March 28th, 2004 09:04 pm (UTC)I'd take DVD over VHS any day, so I understand!
I don't know what to tell you but to save up... or be really nice to your peoples and ask for nothing else but DVDs for birthday or holiday gifts! (That's the only way I can get them.)
