They Cancelled My Show - Again

Dear SciFi Channel,

You're all idiots. Stargate Atlantis was the only reason I, personally, watch you network. Surprisingly, I don't like dumb-ass original movies. They make me want to cry because of their badness, and that's just with watching the commercials for them. However, that's all you seem to want to produce otherwise. I can't speak for shows like Eureka or Battlestar Galactica, of course, as I don't watch either, but you seem to have made the fans unhappy with those in some way or another of late, too.

I'll admit Atlantis isn't the best show ever. But damn it, it's the kind of show I'd spend the rest of my life watching. There are so few shows on the air or that have ever been on the air that hit the mark for me like the Stargate franchise has. I've had it in my life for the last 12 years or so -- that's literally half my existence, people. So, taking it away certainly isn't going to help your profit margin. At least, not with the help of this fan. Thus, I repeat: you're all idiots.

I could say more, but maybe I'll save that for a real letter.

I can't get into any other Scifi shows either. If they didn't rerun SG1 out the wazooo like they do now, I wouldn't watch much probably.

I am so unhappy I don't even have words.

But... I love all those guys. You know? I mean, just, I want to go live in the shiny city with the gorgeous stained glass windows and the amazing wall treatments and all the shiny technology, and I want to hang out with the team, and WOOLSEY. Woolsey who I didn't expect to like and who I now want to hug, he didn't even get a chance to be awesome! AAARGH.

Seriously, what show could they possibly make that could pull in the viewing numbers of SGA?

Unfortunately, I get the impression they have cut down Atlantis in order to build their new show, Stargate Universe. It will have all new (cheaper) actors and be a more spaceship based show. Bleh- Sounds too Trek for me. Sci-fi actually didn't want to lose this show, as you are right, the rest of their programming is pitious.

BTW...I wandered in here due to your fabulous kitbash of Sheppard! Well done, bravo!

Teehee, I see I may have given you some sleepless nights over looking for a 12' Sheppard-esque figure. *pats* Actually, I almost have a current-season uniform finished for mine. I just need to get off my lazy butt and add pockets to his tac vest!

Also, Big Lots store are the ONLY place I've ever found Power Team Elite figures.

Sleepless nights, yes! (*blushes* I'm sorta not used to folks coming in and reading my figure-angst.) Heck, I'm careening all around the Net looking for help with 12" Flan! Do you know they even have a Yahoo list? I checked 4 Biglots in my areas--nothing. :-(

I'm interested in what you used for uniforms as I'm having trouble locating BDUs in Atlantis colors. I do have a Rodney body worked out, and am modifying a head as we speak. *crosses fingers*

I stole the uniform from another Elite guy, I think it was the SWAT guy. It's almost a perfect match to what Sheppard wears in the current season.

I never thought of the SWAT uniforms, probably because I've not actually seen any PT figures in person, only on ebay auctions and what other photos people post!

I too have checked Big Lots in a few states, and nothing yet. Some folks said they get their toy shipment in Sept. for the holiday season, so I am hoping to see some soon. The company that makes these is:

and they posted a Yahoo list, Power_Team_Elite, which I joined. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of activity right now, but in the links section is a very useful site that has dozens of close-up head shots of some of the figures, along with their names. Alas, no Sheppard figure. :-(

I seriously can't figure out why they canceled Atlantis so soon. I didn't think it had 10 seasons in it but I figured it had at least 7. It's so frustrating to get so invested in these shows only to see them get retooled by the networks and then canceled for doing what the networks asked.
Damn you, SciFi Channel..
