At 107 words, my 40th drabble! And in the holiday spirit...

=====

Title: July
Prompt: "crepuscular"

"Uncle Jack, why are we outside in the dark?"

"I have a surprise for you, Cassie."

"What kind of surprise?"

"If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise. Just look to the sky..."

I look at my watch.

3...

2...

1...

Her eyes light up as colors brighten the sky.

"What is it?!"

"They're called fireworks."

"They're so pretty."

"We use them to celebrate this special day. But now, you can celebrate, too. Celebrate your new home, new friends."

"Thanks, Uncle Jack."

Despite the crepuscular light, I see a tear on her cheek. Putting a hand on her shoulder, I pull her close.

"You're welcome, darlin'."

Author's Note: "crepuscular" -- dim; of or like twilight

You have ALDI in the USA? I thought that was a German supermarket chain. I never knew they got international (not counting Austria and Switzerland international in this case). Or does Strong Bad live in Germany?

I get to do art projects as a tradeoff!

I took a look at the gallery yesterday. You make beautiful pieces. I love the books. Even the purple one ;). It fits so good to blue and red, because, well, it is made of them. The Stargate is impressive and I like the Golden Snitch. It looks so real. The animals are cute and I like the wet effect on the eyes.

What are Sarah colors? Is that just a special brand you prefer to use or do you make them yourself, like my brother and uncle force me to do for the trees and all that model railroader stuff? With the powder and those three fluid things that I don't care to find English names for.

I forgot to mention, I watched the first episode of Monk. It was funny. I like him. I will try to not forget to watch the others, too.

That drabble is so cute. I love Jack and Cassie. Even though I have only seen them very few times (two I think). I love her experiencing her first fireworks. She should come to Hanover for the international fireworks comepetition. The contributions of the partaking countries are pretty amazing. This year I watched the French one. It's always so sad, that they cost so much money because of the program (classical music, a play or something else cultural from the country that turn is on the day you go), to get you in the mood and them taking place in the Royal Gardens of Hanover. Last year I watched the Mexican contribution. Pretty nice, with a lot of heart shaped ones and flowers. I'm waiting for the day a country makes the Lord of the Rings dragon. Two years ago I watched Sweden. They had a really good choreography with the fireworks and I think it was some music from Bach. Okay, I should stop here now, I think. I just love those firework competitions so much. In 1998 the USA won. You can learn German and read about the competitions here

Or just look at the picture. I might be in the second one. But I haven't found me yet.

So, back to your entry.

I like the Teal'c banner. And wet Jack. Guh, like Alli would say.

But darn it, LJ seems to take all my time

Maybe I should stop spamming you with comments then. ;)

Tehehe!! For me, he is my Reality TV. :D

You said you are not as bad as he is, didn't you? And I wanted to ask you, if I should start downloading the third season as they air, or if there are a lot of storylines that need to not get spoiled. Is it like friends or more like that 80s cop thing Hammer or whatever that was called? So that there is a frame plot, but you can watch the episodes separatly most of the time and still enjoy them and they wouldn't really ruin the older episodes for you? Let's see, if you can make any sense of this.

So you need to catch up on the series so you can read more fics!

I will, I will. Need to watch the next few episodes on my hard drive. And if my spider senses are right, Alli is about to send me the rest of the seasons for my birthday. Or maybe a bit sooner.

The only things you might miss are little flashbacks they tell us things about Monk, like his life before Trudy (his wife) was killed.

Well, I know she is dead, so I think I won't get spoiled in the way I hate it. I'll try to get the last one of Season 2 and then catch up on Season 3.

I hope if she does send them, she sends them sooner than later.

I won't have time to watch them all. There are three unwatched episodes here at the moment. Stupid job. Taking away half of the day of computer time. Why can't I be rich and not have to make money?

And I definitely won't be done watching the first 7 Seasons when Season 8 starts. Isn't that on Friday or something?

Oh, have you seen that Atlantis pilot film? Is it very spoilerish? It would be so much easier to get it now, when everyone has it, than to look for it for days later.
