I turned in an assignment today for Brit Lit. I thought some of you might enjoy it. ;)
In the epic tale Beowulf, Grendel is the first major fiend the protagonist must defeat. Driven into action by the constant singing and renditions of the creation of man by the people celebrating in the mead hall of Heorot, Grendel, the "fiend out of hell" (Heaney translation, line 100), begins an assault on Heorot. One night, apparently unable to endure the torment -- to him, at least -- any longer, Grendel slinks out of the marches, his marauding territory, and rises from the depths, traveling to Heorot. Once there, he approaches the hall, all of its occupants full of drink and sleeping. He releases his fury, killing as many people as he can manage and butchers their corpses. That night marks the beginning of Grendel's twelve-year long reign of terror on the Danes and their prized mead hall.
Using the details above, I have illustrated that portion of the story with a series of nineteen photographs...

NOTE: No action figures were harmed in the taking of these photographs.
