Land of Pretty Accents

I leave for Scotland on Friday. Pretty much my whole family is going, so if we don't drive each other completely crazy, we'll be back about a week later. ;)

If anyone has suggestions of places to seek out, let me know. I already have the TARDIS coffee place in Glasgow on my list. Tehe.

Okay, I asked my Scotish friends. Will get back at you with their reply. Unless they dare to come over here and talk to you themselves.

I think as long as you can fit in embarrassing Ross, all is good. ;)

Do you know where else you will go yet?

after living here my entire life i can't think of one place for her go! lol.

i see that someone already mentioned Forbidden Planet on her journal so i'll say A1 Comics is another good geek shop to visit. it's right round the corner from the Tron Theatre, on Chisholm Street. and it's right next door to my favourite resaurant Esca! tell her to go there! the food is soooooo good! and if her waiter is called Ross that would be my brother so tell her to embarass the hell out of him =P

Touristy stuff..... hmm, well there's the open top bus things that do tours, there's the Science Centre, it's fun but probably more for kids, there's my cinema too. she so has to go there it's the tallest cinema in the world and you get some really nice views of Glasgow from the top floor. it's the Cineworld on Renfrew Street.

oh the Kelvingrove Art Gallery just reopened, it looks cool. the Transport Museum is also cool, i loved that when i was a kid, and still do now! Those two are rgiht next to each other, close to Glasgow Uni. There's a bunch of Charles Rennie Mackintosh stuff all over the city, the Art School is in the centre of town so is the Willow Tea Rooms.

there's a lot of stuff listed on this website --> http://www.seeglasgow.com/

can't think of anything else offhand but if i do i'll let you know. does she know what other places she'll be going to? Loch Lommond is pretty but i don't want to tell her it's lovely and then find out she won't be going anywhere near it!

she should go to Edinburgh, even if it's just for a day trip, the Castle is cool and they have a way bigger Forbidden Planet there!

I like how Claire got a nice mixture of cultural and geeky things together there. Hee. Hope it helps a bit with planning your vacation.
