Title: Shattered
Prompt: "tatterdemalion"
I look at him sleeping, nestled in the white linens.
It's hard to believe that only a short time ago, this man was in the clutches of Ba'al.
When he was brought through the Gate, he had no obvious injuries.
But his tatterdemalion clothing showed the truth of what was done to him.
I've seen a lot of things in my line of work...
Thinking about what might have caused some of those holes and tears almost has me hurrying to toilet, retching.
I can only do so much to help with the physical repercussions.
I just hope he lets us help him heal his mind.
Healing is something we all need right now.

Date: July 31st, 2004 01:40 pm (UTC)And you as an American friend of mine, have to go see "Ground State", so that it will get enough views that German theaters decide to play it.
I would love to read the scans.

Date: August 2nd, 2004 02:29 am (UTC)We got so much Jack... I didn't expect to see so much of him, it was kinda overwhelming. Loved his letter of resignation, the plant... everything. Great ep.
Oh, my, Whumped Sheppard... be still my beating heart.
He's a great character. The writers shouldn't pass up any opportunity to whump him some more. ;-)

Date: August 2nd, 2004 10:40 am (UTC)Don't get me started... oh, well, you did. How about Sat 1 and its famous Friday night death slot? Why bother airing shows like "Farscape" on that particular night when not even "Star Trek" or the infamous Sat 1 FilmFilm survived that slot? Who wants to dedicate himself to a new TV show that's waiting to be axed or moved to Sunday afternoon waiting to be axed soon? I wouldn't. Have a little faith in your audience, TV execs. Can't hurt. Trust me.
Same thing with The Sopranos. ZDF bought the critically acclaimed show hoping to attract viewers in their early twenties (I don't think they've been airing any shows to attract that particular age group ever, have they?). I tuned in, but it was a hellish TV experience I'll never forget. The show was never aired on time in its designated Sunday night time slot (10:15 p.m.). It was usually aired an hour late, and every now and then they didn't even air an ep at all. How do you keep an audience pulling stunts like that?
Anyway...
I was asking because I'm not too fond of Scrubs season 3, it was too soapy in my humble opinion (I prefer the medical escapades) and even worse, the soapy stuff wasn't all that interesting and/or funny. Maybe I've got a weird sense of humor. Loved Michael J. Fox' guest appearance, though, that was cool.
I haven't had a chance to see Joan of Arcadia yet, but I'm certain Pro7 will do everything in their power to ruin the show.
Have you seen Tim Minear's Wonderfalls? It's an excellent show, critics loved it, too, that's probably why FOX wisely chose the Friday night death slot and cancelled it after four episodes. Never even gave it a chance. At least all 13 episodes of the show will be released on DVD in December (both my husband and my neighbor can't wait to get their hands on that set! The cancellation hit 'em pretty hard, I've been getting used to that...). Quoting Tim Minear (my favorite Angel writer, btw): "FOX... where shit hits the fans."

Date: August 2nd, 2004 11:23 am (UTC)Well, I'm not that fond of Sat. 1. I hated what they did to Saturday football. I mean, I want to watch the games and not have hundreds of televotings and quizzes and whatever.
Never started watching 'The Sopranos' either. I only watch 'Lukas' and 'Der kleine Mönch' on ZDF. And of course football. *gg*
it was too soapy in my humble opinion
Same here. I think season 3 so far was the weakest of them all. But I think the writers realized that and that is why J.D. realized, he didn't really love Elliot anymore, now that she wanted to be with him. And with Turk and Carla's wedding done, I hope they get back to the clinc stuff again.
The eps with Michael rocked. I loved them so much. I actually did an entry about that. Well, two entries.

I loved this eps. I even loved the Ben (Brendan Frasier) ep. Even if it was so sappy. I could just have done without all that coupling stuff Jordan/Cox, Turk/Carla, J.D./that Tara Reid character (jeez, I already forgot her name *gg*), J.D./Elliot, Elliot/Sean. They should have put that into different Seasons. I can't wait how they will go on though. I really hope that J.D/Elliot thing is over.

I'm sure they will. And if they do I will personally not like them anymore. I won't watch a show there ever again. I know, not that frightening, but besides of Angel and Scrubs, they did it to Futurama too and another show, that I don't watch and that's name just escaped me. But I will never start watching a show there ever again, when they do it. I'll just be waiting for the dvds. Most likely I will have watched a download or something like that anyway.
But you really should watch it. Even if it is aimed mainly at teenage viewers, it is really touching. Not one episode, where I didn't cry and where I didn't laugh really hard. The young actors are pretty good, too. Better than I'm used to.
And speaking of Joan and Scrubs. I need to go on gathering pictures for my mood theme.
Have you seen Tim Minear's Wonderfalls?
Yes I have. Unfortunately I don't know, in which direction it would have gone, but I must say, I liked Joan better.

Date: August 5th, 2004 02:42 am (UTC)Amen.
Okay, I think I'll watch Joan. Jack O'Neill probably does, too. He's a fan of Mary Steenburgen, so he wouldn't miss that for the world... Speaking of which, did you know that Alexis Denisof lived at Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson's house for a year when he didn't have any money?
Loved your roof toilet screen caps, btw. ;-)

Date: August 5th, 2004 08:41 am (UTC)And yes, I knew that Alexis lived with them. He met Mary at the set of Noah's Ark.
Yeah, I was obsessed with Scrubs. Well, still am. But people were asking me, what I meant with roof toilette. I had to show them.
And it is not my caps. I'm almost sure I got them here

Or maybe even from the official page at nbc.
